Fix it or start again?
Not every tired bathroom needs ripping out. Sometimes fresh sealant and grout will do. If a repair will do the job, I'll tell you, even if it means a smaller job for me.
Where a handyman stops
Some work legally needs a registered specialist:
- Gas: any work on gas appliances or pipework needs a Gas Safe registered engineer.
- Certified electrical work: in England, these jobs need a registered electrician or building control sign-off:
- a new circuit;
- replacing the consumer unit (fuse box);
- adding to or changing circuits in the space around a bath or shower.
We don't do this work ourselves. We do have access to registered electricians and Gas Safe engineers who can help, and if your job needs one, I'll tell you before I quote. See what we don't do.

Can a handyman do electrical work?
Repairs and like-for-like replacements, such as swapping a light fitting, don't need certifying. New circuits, a replacement consumer unit and changes to circuits around baths and showers do. We don't do certified electrical work ourselves, but we have access to registered electricians who can help.
Do you do gas work?
No. Gas work must be done by a Gas Safe registered engineer. We have access to registered engineers who can help.
Can you do several jobs in one visit?
Yes, and please do. Send the list and I'll quote for the lot.
